Meet Our Team
Matthew -- Operations Manager
Matthew joined our animal care team in 2001 as a veterinary assistant. He came to the clinic looking for a new challenge after leaving behind a very successful career in the record industry, where he owned and managed a record label. Through the years, Matthew has used his experience to help with logistics in the clinic, and he now focuses solely on management, working with the whole team as well as all of our suppliers to provide our clients and patients with the best possible care. Outside of the clinic, Matthew is also very busy as he has two daughters, many pets and hobbies.
Please feel free to contact Matthew at: info@eglintonvet.com if you have any questions for us.
Veterinary Technicians
Veterinary Technicians are specifically trained professionals who work as an integral part of our veterinary medical team, to provide humane, quality animal health care. They are often the first-line contact with our patients in the hospital and they assist our doctors with an endless list of tasks including: animal care, laboratory duties, dental cleanings, surgical and anesthesia assitance, radiology and client education.
Sandra -- Registered Veterinary Technician
Sandra has been in the veterinary field for 15 years, bringing her skills and experience to Eglinton Veterinary 3 years ago. She graduated from Seneca College's Veterinary Technician program in 2003 and obtained her designation as an RVT shortly thereafter. Sandra takes great satisfaction from helping to keep our client's pets happy and healthy. She is interested in surgery, helping us to get our Laparoscopic surgery program off the ground. She enjoys time in the park with her Labrador Retreiver, Dex.
Blair -- Veterinary Technician

Blair was raised in rural Ontario. After graduating from St. Clair College in 2000, Blair spent some time in research and on the industry side of veterinary medicine. He now compliments our medical team as a veterinary technician, providing top-notch care to our patients. Blair loves the challenges of veterinary medicine and is motivated by the ability to help sick animals get well. Blair enjoys quiet evenings at home with his feline friend, Ben.
Jessica -- Registered Veterinary Technician
Jessica is the newest addition to the Eglinton Vet team, bringing 10 years of experience in small animal veterinary care to the clinic. Jessica is a graduate of the Seneca College Veterinary Technician program and is a Registered Veterinary Technician. Her family includes her two cats Fred and Tinka, as well as two ferrets, Dani California and Cactus Arizona. Jessica has an unusual passion for parasites, which is why we often find her in our lab attached to a microscope.
Nancy -- Veterinary Technician

She works with our technician team on a part-time basis, bringing her years of experience to EVF. Nancy runs her own veterinary supply company as well as being a practising Reiki master. In her busy schedule, Nancy always finds time to relax with her two rescue cats, Trucker and Dempy.
Reception
Our receptionists will be the first face that you see upon entering the clinic and they work together with all of the hospital staff to insure that our patients get the care that they need with professionalism and efficiency. Our receptionists are supported by the rest of the team, who all fill in on reception at times.
Laura -- Reception
Laura is that familiar face on the front desk at EVF, working full time days during the week. Since her start with us in June, 2010, Laura has made a name for herself with both our patients and their families. With years of experience as both an assistant and front-office receptionist, Laura brings compassion and understanding to our practice. Laura is the loving mother of Sugar and Spice her two Mainecoon cats.
Sharon -- Reception
Sharon is another familiar face at the front desk her at EVF. She is our staple weekend receptionist as well as blessing us with her humour 2-3 afternoons a week. Sophie and Jake, her two feline friends enjoy evening at home with a good movie or book. Sharon was raised in a theatrical family, taught english for many years, and also worked at a major hospital in London, Ontario. She decided to start anew upon retirement, and went to work at an animal hospital in London. She joined our team in late 2009 after relocating to Toronto to be closer to her two daughters.
Veterinary Assistants
Our team would not be complete without our group of veterinary assistants, who work directly with our doctors and technicians to insure that our patients get the best possible care. They are responsible for animal care and general cleaning and maintenance of the practice, along with any other assistance necessary.
Kasey -- Veterinary Assistant / Reception
After obtaining a BSc degree in Zoology and Ethology at UNB, Kasey came to Toronto with a desire to gain experience in the veterinary world, hoping to one day train to be a veterinarian. She has spent the last year assisting and caring for our patients, and also works our front desk. With her faithful pet rabbit Clyde by her side, Kasey hopes to further her career in animal care and medicine.
Dalton -- Veterinary Assistant
Dalton has provided hands-on care for our patients for over four years, first part-time and now full-time as a veterinary assistant. If he is not in the clinic, you are sure to find Dalton bouncing a few on the basketball courts or running in the park with his dog, a Lab-cross named Xena.
Harry -- Veterinary Assistant/Grooming
Harry has worked at EVF for a number of decades, caring for two generations of our patients. His work occurs mostly 'behind the scenes' where Harry can be found assisting our doctors and assistants, as well as maintaining the facility. Harry is also currently responsibly for any dog bathing that occurs at the hospital.
Curtis -- Our feline friend, clinic mascot and weight loss champ!
You will see Curtis featured in many of the photos taken of our team, and he is also featured in our newsletter and in occasional journal posts. Curtis was adopted by the EVF team in 2010 and lives at the clinic where he spends his days watching for food scraps (we have him on a weight loss plan), grumping at dogs who dare to invade his space and basking in the sun in the doctor's office. Please ask us to meet Curtis if you would like.
